Mireia goes to Sweden with the EVS
Mireia Rodríguez , former participant in the Leonardo da Vinci project Care for Diversity II, will make a European Voluntary Service in Sweden, in a small town in the north called Arvidsjaur, with IDEUM Arvidsjaur Kommun organization for one year and Nexes is her sending organization.
In Arvidsjaur Mireia will have several tasks: to raise awareness and encourage interaction between the local population and the refugee community, create bonds of solidarity between communities, promoting intercultural dialogue, among others.
From Nexes, we wish her a very good start of the European Voluntary Service.
"On the 30 of September I'll be already in Sweden, in a village of the Swedish Lapland called Arvidsjaur. Three months ago I returned to Barcelona after having enjoyed the Leonardo da Vinci project and now I go back to the same place to make the EVS (European Voluntary Service ), but now I'm back alone, without other colleagues and I will be there for one year.
This year has gone by really fast and I didn't get a chance to digest everything I experienced, learnt and everything that is waiting for me. I'm keen on coming back, however, there are some things that worry me: will I survive the Swedish winter? Isn't a year too much time (away)? Will I be able to learn Swedish? Will I not get lonely? And if I stayed here, what would happen?
A lot of unanswered questions come to my mind, but in the end, there's always a little voice telling me: everything will be fine, it's what you wanted.
I want to start this new experience, I want to enjoy it, learn as much as possible and over all to live it!
See you whwn back :) "
